For all users who have not downloaded the latest security patch for I-RATER PLATINUM please either do so now or log a support request via our online helpdesk to have a member of support do so for you.
A vulnerability in I-Rater Platinum, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "include_path" parameter in "include/common.php" and "/admin/config_settings.tpl.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources. The latest version fixes this version.
Finally, the new version, completely rewritten from scratch will be released this week.
Many thanks.

BASIC and PRO support and production |
|
Wednesday, 25 January 2006 |
We would like to advise all current and future customers that the development of I-RATER BASIC and I-RATER PRO will cease from the 15th of February 2006. We have decided to concentrate fully on developing a richer and more usable and stable version of I-RATER platinum and to focus more on developing that software.
We are currently in beta testing of the new PLATINUM version, however we are still accepting all feedback for feature requests for our version 4.0 due for release in the coming weeks.
All current BASIC and PRO licence holders will be emailed in due course regarding this issue and a discounted upgrade option will be made available for those who wish to upgrade to our latest PLATINUM software.
Please note that there will also be a new licence agreement allowing greater freedom of use of the I-RATER PLATINUM code. More updates regarding these issues will be posted here over the coming weeks.
